I need to raise an existing timber floor by approx 200mm. I'd like to keep the extra load on the existing floor to a minimum. Has anyone ever tried laying T & G flooring directly onto Jabfloor or any other EPS product ( bearing in mind I'd need to lay slabs of EPS that are about 180mm thick)? I'd use XPS but this will cost too much.

The existing floor construction is PosiJoists with 22mm Caberboard on top.

Another thought was using I-Joists (JJI-Joists maybe) laid on top of the existing floor at 600mm centres and nailing the T & G planks directly into the top of the I-Joists!!

Any thoughts appreciated
