I have a Baxi combi boiler. For the last couple of months, a few times a day at random times eg middle of night, afternoon, a loud water pressure noise can be heard coming from our boiler which is in the garage.

It only lasts about 3 seconds and sounds similar to the noise that the cold supply on a washing machine makes when it fills.

It is quite disconcerting when it suddenly does it in the night.

Had the boiler serviced yesterday but the bloke was clueless.

Can anybody help please???

Do live nearby factories, hospital and industrial estate? If yes that means you need pressure reducing valve on ur mains

It's a Baxi 105e.

Don't live particularly near ind estate.

What do you mean by condensate draining?

Thanks!

What does the pressure guage on the front read?

Ignore the condensate comment, yours isnt a condensing model.

Thanks for your replies. Doesn't say Instant anywhere on it, only Baxi Combi 105e.

Pressure is on 1, so within the range recommended.

Bottom line is it a concern or just an annoyance, and can I make it go away?

Is it not the pre-heat ? Does the flame light come on ?

Flame light doesn't come on and isn't connected at all with the heating, seems isolated to the cold water and a short power surge
