Ive just moved in to a two year old house and when our hot water and central heating boiler is switched on a very loud and irratating noise is emitting from somewhere near the roof of our house.

It dissapears if I knock off the 185 boiler and returns withion a few minutes of switching it back on. Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
Thankx

this noise is caused by incorect air to gas mixture on the boiler which is something only a corgi engineer will be able to do as you will need a digital manometer to do this correctly

May also be faulty gas valve and if the boiler is greater than 5 years old the baffles (eight off) will be completely corroded away need replacing, yours should be o.k only two years old. has it been serviced ?, also had the can be the fan making that noise. Requires corgi engineer with knowledge of this type or call potterton for thier fixed fee repair service.
