Rangemaster 110 Cooker Hood - Screeching Noise From Fan

Hi, just moved house and discovered the cooker hood makes a horrible noise when the fan is switched on. I've removed all the filters and grill over the fan. The fan spins although I have seen it stop and then continue. The noise on occasion will briefly stop. There seems to be a fair bit of side to side movement on the fan. Not sure if this is normal or the cause of the issue? Any ideas or do I need to replace the motor assembly. It's £280 so I'd rather fix it possible!

Have you tried a squirt of wd40 or similar in the bearings.
