PLease help!!! I have a Ravenheat LPG Gas Boiler Model RSF100ET which is installed in our house in France. The boiler does not fire up when the hot tap is switched on. I have checked that the gas is reaching the boiler OK. Water pressure is Ok. Have a full cylinder of gas and the regulator is working OK.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be. I have guests going over this Friday and they won't have any hot water if I can't get it going?? :(

All replies gratefully received. Dave :)

Could be the 3-way valve; it has a water flow switch on the left hand side which turns the boiler on when the tap opens....

You'll probably need a new diaphragm for it; the valve is a 371298.

Just make sure the heating is fine before buying it though ;)

Which part of France is it?

You need to tell us if its working on heating or not. If its OK on heating then it sounds as if the DHW flow detector has failed.

Just how will you get it fixed quickly?

We only cover the 50250 area on a casual basis.

Most French ingeniers will probably be worried by a Ravenheat! And the spares availability may be formidable??

Motto only let/invite guests who are CORGI registered. I am not sure which chien a corgi translates to!

Thanks for the quick replies. Unfortunately the heating is not working either. The area of France is Riberac 24600. We have friends and relatives over there who could make arrangements for an engineer, but as you say they are not familiar with Ravenheat so we would like to diagnose the problem and arrange for any parts to be sent over prior to the engineer's visit. :)

Yes the fan spins and it seems like it is trying to cough into life but then it dies. There is no sign of any flame at all???

Can you here a good consistent sparking? If so I would tend towards a gas valve or lack of gas problem.

Thanks for that? Have a good spark & 3/4 tank of LPG. Do you possibly have a part No for the gas valve :) please? Aleternatively a stockist in the Oxford area?

Have yo cheked the UPSO hasn't activated at the regulator, shutting off the gas?

We have been told by a colleague who is looking after the property at the moment that gas is entering the boiler to the main inlet tap which is beyond the regulator. Unfortunately this is all second hand information that we are receiving??? :(
