We had some pretty heavy rain last night and since then my boiler has been playing up. The pilot light comes on when I turn the boiler off and on but it doesn't seem to ignite the rest of the burner and then the pilot goes out after a few more seconds. On opening the boiler up I noticed some water had come in from the flue which leads outside, it wasn't a lot of water but maybe this could be related as it had dripped down to where the pilot light is, I guess some water was somehow sucked in by the fan?? Does anyone have any ideas of things I could try before i get someone out?

The flue has probably been fitted at the wrong angle and should be checked by a competent CORGI.

You should not have opened the combustion chamber unless you were gas trained.

However, now its open you could look at the thin plastic air tubes and if there is any water then blow it towards the fan through each tube in turn.

Ideally even if this worked you should call a CORGI to check the installation as it can cause damage if water is entering the boiler.
