Probably been asked a million times but...

Installing new bathroom sink and pedestal in newly tiled bathroom.

Sink hangs on double ended screw into 12mm rawlplug.

I've drilled 12mm hole through tiles and there's nothing behind as I haven't
Been lucy enough to catch a stud.

The rawlplug keeps spinning as it not getting a grip.

Any suggestions gratefull on how to get rawlplug to grip

You should have prepared to area to take a sink by installing ply plate where sink sits.As you haven't the pedestal will have to take the weight. You can use toggle bolts thru the holes you have made and gently tighten to hold sink tight to wall and level, then silicon ALL round.

Thanks foxhole yea I should have strengthened wall, think my next
Step is to try spring toggles exchanging the normal bolt for threaded
Rod cut to length as the screw head with the toggle is no use to me.

As you have a pedestal, all you need to do is secure the sink to the wall, you sont need to hang it on the wall.. the pedestal will take the weight.

There should be some smaller fixings lower down the sink, use these and just use some pasterboard rawlplugs.

Then silicone round the top of the sink and the top and bottom of the pedestal.

Thanks for replies.

Job now done, I used M6 Spring Toggles, replacing the normal screw head bolt with 6mm threaded rod cut to length.

Worked a treat.
