RCBO questions....

I have been given a Merlin Gerain CU by a friend..

I have several breakers and RCBO's for it, left over from various sites over the years..

I have 2 32A 30mA RCBO's.. the problem is that they are type C..
are these ok for domestic use?

these were being fitted in M.G. CU's in a flat conversion so the designers thought they were...

If you can meet the Zs requirements, then yes

flat is about 10M by 10M

1 GP ring, 1 Kitchen ring..

Whats the Ze to the property?

oh and proposed circuit lengths and cable CSA?

true but if your Ze is 0.8 then you WILL NOT get your Zs low enough.

just tested a few sockets..

Zs of one was 0.8
Zs of another was 1.2..

Zs of 2 others was open circuit..

guess i found out the reason they joined the earths from 2 T+E's together with a connector block in the roof...
will sort it tomorrow...
and do a full test..

my meter also trips the rcd when used..

now lock the button down and plug in. works fine...
