RCCB tripping when turning fluorescent lights off

I moved into a property that has an outbuilding that the previous owner had connected up to the house electrics by a qualified electrician (have the paper work e.t.c).

It has a consumer unit within the house with an RCB and MCCB and another consumer unit within the oubuilding with two RCBs (I assume one for lights and other for sockets)

We didn't have any problems with it but I've noticed recently that a lot of times (around 1 in 5 times) when I turn the two fluorescent lights off the MCCB in the house trips cutting the power to the outbuilding.

I've tried taking the starter out of each fluorescent tube in turn to confirm if it was one of the lights but both cause the MCCB to trip out.

From reading online these MCCBs can be over sensitive and trip without an actual fault. None of the RCBs have tripped.

I haven't changed anything with the electrics on this outbuilding and didn't have any issues before. I also think its unlikely that I have two faulty fluorescent lights.

I am thinking of swapping the MCCB out as I've read these can become over sensitive over time and this would be cheaper than calling an electrician out.

If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd be grateful to hear them.

I have only ever had the "switching off" problem when the property has had a crabtree RCCB that you have, like you i decided to replace the unit and all was well again.

What device trips?

The RCD (also known as RCCB)

Or the MCB?

You do not have any MCCBs

Apologies Adam_151 the RCCB, the photo was taken when it had tripped out.
