i have an ideal rd1 boiler.Every year we have problems with it,usually the sensors.I am really getting sick of paying a small fortune to have it repaired.
This time it is just clicking, not firing up.the PCB shows LED4 flashing. When it briefly tries to start, there is 240 volts applied to the fan,it tries to start with a struggle and then clicks and the voltage drops,is there something causing this or is the fan knackered? The fan has a lot of resistance when turned by hand. Please help

nothing will happen if the fan isn't spinning, no pilot light. Are you saying it is a little tight when power is supplied?, certainly sounds like a shot fan.

just stripped the fan, found top bearing seized, removed bearing, lubricated and freed it.rebuilt fan and refitted it.
HEY PRESTO away it went.
No cats getting fatter this time.
Thanks for the advice.
I am probably the best appliance engineer in these parts, please feel free to ask if i can help,i will.
