I have been trying to redecorate my hardwood windows using Sadolin Classic.
I have rubbed down all the surfaces with glasspaper and coarse wire wool and have given all the windows one coat of Classic Redwood. However due to the appalling weather and other commitments I have not had time to put a second coat on.
The first coat went on nearly five weeks ago. My question is do I have to now re-key the first coat to ensure adherance, or will this still be "green" enough to take a second and subsequent coats without re-keying?
The windows concerned face due south and are therefore most affected by the sun so I really want to make sure I do these properly.
Any advice gratefully received

Working only in the direction of the grain, very lightly sand then dust off and you should be fine to apply further coats.

B***er I should have guessed that might have been the reply.

The windows were prepared and painted as we were having new curtains fitted and didn't want the preparation of the frames to cover them in dust. We will either have to take the curtains down again or try and tape some polythene over the openings.
Alternatively what do people think about chemical sandpaper like Zinsser Deglosser or Polycell Liquid Sanding? Would this be OK to use in this circumstance?
