Our hallway ceiling has nasty textured ceilings and therefore as we want a smooth finish I have ripped down the old plasterboard & reboarded the ceiling, and will get a man in to skim. Anyway, stupidly, I reboarded brown side visible, even though on the board is says plaster other side. Will having the brown side down be a problem or an i going to have to take the boarding down & re-do?

You can slap it on quite happily, it won't fall off. If the man coming in to skim is a bit doubtful,(and he shouldn't be) just give it a coat of PVA and skim while tacky.

i skimmed a dining room wall where the customer had done exactly the same, had a couple of patches of pimples on the first coat but came out ok in the end.

like Micilin says, PVA first will help
