Re-turf or hang in there

My lawn always seems to have alot of dry patches with light brown coloured grass. After the end of last summer I decided to airrate the the lawn, put grass seed down and put feed down.

The grass looks nice and green when long but as soon as I cut it it just seems to die and look warn out.

Any ideas ?
