I knocked my tripod lamp over while vacuuming (!) and it came apart. Now I have two wires poking out (one brown, one blue) and I'm not sure how to connect them back to the lamp fitting that came away (see pictures). Please advise! I don't want to electrocute myself :|

the brown is recomended to go to the hole that connects to the centre contact inside the holder , the blue to the hole connecting to the outer contact inside the holder.
The wires should push in and lock firmly into the round holes that are paired up, one of each pair left unused

That's really helpful, thanks. When you refer to the centre contact, do you mean the one that is pushed down flat? And the outer contact is the one standing up?

And once I've pushed the wires through the holes, that's it? There's nothing to secure them in place?

Thanks again.

Ensure the lamps UNPLUGGED :)

If you look at the screw in lamp, and visualize the contacts inside the holder, the outer blue wire connects through to the threaded part of the lamp.
the centre pin of the end of the lamp will connect through to the brown wire,
As you say the centre contact would ideally be sort of flat so it dont touch the end of the lamp till lamp screwed down,
The standing up one blue will rub on the bulb thread.
The purpose being you dont want to touch the Live brown by touching the thread of the bulb when handling the lamp when plugged in.
Though modern holders are designed so thats not likely to happen but still good practise to connect as above.

Yes the wires should click in and feel tight when pulled slightly, then clip the housing onto the other base by lining up and pushing down, top should then click and lock on
