I have been quoted for a one storey rear extension (4mx6m). The detailed quote includes the following:

Foundations
* 120cm deep by 60cm wide

Block-work & brickwork
* 2 x 3 levels of engineering bricks with ventilation and damp proofing which will be connected to the existing
* brickwork will be London Stock
* block-work will be light blocks
* Insulation between block and brick work
* 1 steel beam 2.5m in length
* 1 catnic 5.2m in length above the door to the garden
* 1 catnic 1.4m in length above the existing door to the patio

Materials
* 5 skips
* Sand 15 bags
* 3250 bricks
* 400 light blocks
* Insulation
* Wall ties
* Steels and catnics
* Cement
* Provision for tools

Seems quite comprehensive but was hoping to seek some advice. I am trying to avoid there being lots of extra costs at the end. I see no mention of windows/doors or roof materials.

Is it normal for a quote to list absolutely everything? Has anything been missed?

Thanks.

usually a builder will give a quote based on a drawing supplied by the customer, omitting whatever work he does not wish to do e.g. "to carry out all building work compliant with drawing supplied.....blah blah blah. work does not include electrics, heating and final decoration."
