My 2015 Citroen van has a light out at the rear. I’ve changed the bulbs and it works with the lights on but it doesn’t come on when you break.

I noticed the bulb holder had poor contact and was slipping.

So I thought I would buy a new console as they are £45. But all suppliers provide the milder unit only and do not sell the bulb holder unit inside.

I’ve asked Citroen and they don’t sell it anymore.

Any ideas on what I do? Do I try a scrap place or could I tinker with the bulb holder?

The contact problem is either with the bulb terminals (one or two) or the bulb loose in the holder itself.
These things are plated steel, so scrape with a screwdriver each part that contacts the bottom of the bulb and bend them slightly so they make a good spring contact.
Remove as much rust as you can and apply silicone grease once the job is done (this grease doesn't conduct).
At least then you can test them without reassembling everything.
John :)
