The building was pretty much demolished and rebuilt, just a lot larger! To my knowledge it will be subject to the latest regs. So, obviously new sockets and switch heights, etc.

Bas......I get the impression you are not a fan of downlights??

I have no problem with large ones which actually do the job they are called upon to do, i.e. to properly illuminate the room they are in.

But this house, with 89 ceiling lights in it, is a classic example of how small recessed torches recessed into the ceiling is a bl**dy stupid way to light rooms. If the lights did what they were being asked to do then 89 would not be needed, nowhere near.
