So tomorrow I’m making a start on fitting my mother in laws shower tray and valve.

On previous threads I’ve got the advice for the tray so don’t have an issue there.

The question is around the shower valve, she’s chosen a recessed one: https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/arezzo-brushed-brass-round-modern-twin-concealed-shower-valve

Couple of questions if anyone can give me any guidance:

1 - Looking at the instructions it needs to be at a depth of 70-90mm, is this correct? I then need to take into account the plasterboard and tile depth?

2 - As this is being recessed into the wall, what’s the best way to secure it? Just screws?

3 - Do the pipes need lagging?

4 - Is plastic piping ok?

4 - The gaps from the chiselling can I just use expanding foam?

Thanks,

Scott

You will need to chisel or build a stud frame which would be more convenient.
