Hello, I'm after some help please. I have an aqualla fuse mixer tap which has broken - leaver wouldn't go down into the off position. Eventually it did but the water didn't stop. I've isolated the water under the sink, taken the top of the tap off including the shroud but the cartridge retainer bolt is recessed and appears not to be a standard shape. It's a real pain to get to - wondered if anyone had any ideas please?!

Box spanner is likely to be required for that, you’d have to get size specific though

The blue bit is all cartridge, I take you are trying to turn the round brass locking ring? Perhaps long nosed pliers, it shouldn't be too tight.

Yes I'm trying to get the brass locking ring out but the spanners I have (and have begged and borrowed!) aren't narrow enough to get in the space. Likewise, the box spanners are hexagonal so won't grip

Tap gently with hammer and old screwdriver in the correct direction?

An update! Tried the old screwdriver trick and no joy without causing damage so emailed the manufacturer asking what tool was needed. They posted out (for free) a new cartridge, shroud and special tool. Basically like a box spanner but correct style & size. All sorted in 5 mins. Great customer service from Aqualla
