I bought some reclaimed pine floorboards for my house and after I started planing them I realised that some are a 1-2mm too thin. I'd rather not have to plain/sand the majority of the boards to match the thin ones. Can you suggest a good way of packing these thin ones so they are flush with the rest of my boards? Will 2mm joist slices between the boards and the joists do? Thanks

Plane to 3mm thinner than required then pack-up off the joists with hardboard strips or use plastic shims (as required - available in 1, 1.5 and 2mm thickness) and just surface the minimum you can get away with. The first is less work
