Recoating (teflon?) a bowsaw blade

I have a lot of green wood processing from tree surgery to do, and although I have a chainsaw, it is noisy and annoys the neighbours. When new, my bowsaw blade is like a hot knife through butter, but after a few hours use, the brown non-stick coating (Teflon, I presume) wears off, and the blades are not so easy to use. They are only about £6 each, so I'm probably being a bit tight, but if I spray Teflon onto the blades, might they be resurrected even if only briefly? Any tips on how to do this and get maximum life from the blades?

Increase the 'set' on the saw teeth (points). Old time Carpenter and Joiners will have a 'Saw Set' if you haven't.
