Recomendations for plumbing parts?

If you buy a few 3m lengths as singles and tell the checkout operator that they're 2m, this works sometimes too

Thank heavens for the lack of maths skills learnt nowadays :)

Even better when you get 4 bundles of 22 and 3 x 15 tell them 3 times they are 30m bundles and still get charged for single lengths the guy even said "expensive stuff that copper".
Ain't it just

B&Q 22mm 1.94/m inc vat 15mm 98p/m inc less trade discount if you have card (30m bundles)
Single lengths probably about double that?

Today, at my local Screwfix Direct counter, 15mm £1.77 per metre (VAT inc - I hope........)

Why is copper rising so much?, I thought there is a recession on!

london olympics

glasgow commonwealth games

and f eckin China

still scrappies price getting better £2.70 per kilo in my local

£2.70/kg today also.
Took in a thermal store too which the scrappy nearly took apart before he paid out £48 for! Couldn't believe the weight in it.
Neither could i :D

i had a calorifier and tube bundle to rip out

got out grinder, cut into 4 sections

scrappie paid out £930

happy happy days

Happy days indeed.
Some guys must get an extra 2-300 /wk judging by the amount of full bundles that are there. Glad they don't work for me.
BTW The scrappies are even cheaper for buying copper. Ask him for a price on those full bundles! Fittings (and they usually have loads) are even better priced.

said scrappie sells buckets of end feed and solder ring brought into him from the drivers from larger merchants

know a couple of boys doing installs (full system per day x 4 days)

regularly take home £500 a week scrap money!!!

That's the apprentices job. Cut out all the scrap, after he hangs the rads and crawls under the floor, and goes to the shop and makes the tea.
"Its an extra £50 quid in yer hip if you speed up a bit son"
Always works.

When i was serving my time it was an extra fiver and a pound bonus if i got a bag of block tin. That was more than a third of my wages. I would have slept on the job for that

i buy tube from our scrapy,30 and 60 respectively.

Good yorkshire tube,he gets it from 2 lads that do heating work for the councils. The QS has over esrimate by 3 bundles of each a week for the last 2 years. Rather than alter the oredr and lose face the QS ignores it and takes the odd drink.

Everyones a winner.

a bag of block tin

oh the memories....

blockie

bush brass (not yellow!)

a suspension bursting load of lead!!

4" cast iron pipes filling a transit van and making 8 trips per day for 6 days

6" copper in 6m runs with brazed brass flanges (possibly insulated in a now banned substance   )

just realised i have been an eco warrior for about 25 years what with all this recycling ive been doing!!!!!

"listening" to you lot on here is a clear reminder that the present and future get in the way of you reminiscing about the past.
