Hi, I need to replace my broken immersion heater in my vented hot water cylinder. It is used occasionally to top up the hot water along with my wood burning stove. Can anyone advise on a particular brand to get?

Thanks, its not a hard water area. Terrywookfit can you elaborate??

Fits to the side of the cylinder and heats the cylinder from the top down by gravity. Isolator at the bottom and no need to drain the cylinder down.
Works great. I can heat the cylinder to any level depending on the timings.
Also have a top entry immersion.
Change over switch swaps them.

I have a stove on mine. Also have a Danfoss RAVI-VMT waiting to be fitted to control the cylinder temp.

Never had that problem with the last one, the stove heats 6 radiators too so the tank never gets boiling. Never seen one like that Roger928, where did you get that?

At a local plumbing suppliers.
Most plumbing suppliers should stock these.

I have one of those too.

But I was going to use it to preheat the water at a remote basin.
