The meter fitter is coming to fit a smart meter. Can you recommend an isolator between the meter and CU that I can ask him/her to fit in exchange for tea and hobnobs? I live quite near a Screwfix outlet. The tails are 25mm by the way.

I would of thought they would of install one as standard if your getting smart meter fitted, if they don’t want anybody “turn off” the meter by pulling the Dno fuse then why wouldn’t they?
Just got off the online chat with BG And they supply and fit a isolation switch free of charge when installing a smart meter 
That’s a shame, I only asked as we are in the process with BG sorting It out ect

For what it's worth, when I was with E.on, about 3-4 years ago they supplied and fitted an isolator without charge when they were ('routinely') changing my meter to a new non-smart one.Just got off the online chat with BG And they supply and fit a isolation switch free of charge when installing a smart meter

Sad. Have you thought this poor, irreversible decision through? It is purely for the benefit of your supplier not you.
