Red expansion vessel worcester 240 combi

If you read one bar on the boilers pressure gauge then you were presuriseing the whole boiler, you need the drain off open then take the pressure from the air valve with a tyre gauge, but if you have water at the air valve then the vessel is kaputt. Its a corgi job to replace it as the gas valve has to come out but its only a 45min job for a good eng.You can fit a 8lt expansion vess on the return ch pipe close to the boiler if you want a cheaper fix (but seal up the leaking air valve)

According to what he said, he opened the PRV ( AND LEFT IT OPEN ??? ) and THEN he pumped up to 1 Bar.

If the diaphragm was failed then the air would have evacuated through the PRV and it would never have got to 1 Bar.

If he had really done what he said then it would be working properly now. I suspect he did not leave the PRV open while he was pressurising it.

Let him do it again properly and tell us that it is working correctly.
