Hello, all.

I am looking for practical ideas on how to reduce size of my external doorway in my kitchen. I am planning to reduced it by 2.5x brick, which is around 58cm.
What would be the most professional and sturdy way to do it? Outside bricks should be no problem, have done that before, what about inside? Should I use some sort of wooden stud work or should I use brick? Ideally I want to attach new door to internal brick work as per photo so I don't have to drill any holes in the frame. What is bothering me is if new column of internal bricks will not start to move after a while, obviously there won't be much weight on them compering to original row.
There is also black damp membrane between external and internal bricks, do I need to dig in the mortar and push new piece of membrane to make it wider or should I not bother? Thank You
