I had a shower unit installed correctly by an electrician a few years ago. I removed it to replace tiling but now, on reinstallation, only one of the 2 switches on its fuse box will move to 'on'. The make is 'Hager CD 263W' -any help appreciated.
I presume you mean the consumer unit has mcb's installed. Does the mcb try to go then trips out? Or does it not move at all?. In the first instance you will have a wire wrong somewhere, in the second try moving the mcb positively to the off then to the on, some mcb's need physically to be reset.
I would guess you have got water in some where it should not be but to correct this needs meters which a DIY person is unlikely to have access to as the set costs around £750 so I would say it's a job for an electrician to sort out.
Worry when something goes wrong like has happened to you. Curing it may hid some danger which it would be far better was corrected and so with bathroom items I would advise you don't DIY.
Go back and check that you have connected the cable to the correct terminals. If you can't see anything obvious then I'd call out a spark. Better safe than sorry after all...
