Hi all,

After replacing one of the bulbs in my bathroom, the fixing became loose and is now hanging down and the plaster around it seems very brittle.

I only rent the place so looking for a quick fix I could do myself.

Any suggestions on best approach? I assume I can't just superglue back in place :)

Those fittings are not suitable for a bathroom environment, contact the landlord/property management company to sort it out.

First check both spring clips are still attached to the light fitting.

Assuming they are, make sure the 'longer' arms of the clips are vertical, and then push the whole thing into the ceiling.

If there is no ceiling left where the clips are, you may be able to rotate the whole fitting slightly so there is enough ceiling for the clips to hold onto.

If one or both of the spring clips are missing, chances are it's in the ceiling void.
