why can't people see Farage is just another Trump ?
yeah he sounds great with all the right ideas, he is a great salesman, I love hearing what he has to say, I really do - but he is another Trump
we absolutely do not want him running our country
It's evident they're echoing much of what Trump and/or his administration say and indeed are doing. We as individuals either agree with some/all of it or we don't. It's also been pointed out to them when they've been doing tv interviews post local elections, that much of what they're promising (e.g. not accepting migrants in councils they control) can't be delivered at council level. i.e. legally they wouldn't be allowed to do it. And that they'll realise there aren't actually £millions to be saved at council level, not unless they start to cut even more services, some of which will be popular with ... you guessed it ... the very people who might have voted for them
And some of what they're saying is slightly concerning e.g. if the CE of the council doesn't agree to implement certain things, they might be moved on. Again, very Trump-esque.
Also, if they were to gain power and become our UK government, do we
really want a repeat of something reflecting DOGE in our country? Do we really want teams of people selected by Reform going around our public services asking every employee 'so, what is it you do?' and if the answer doesn't fit a certain criteria, that person gets the sack? It all sounds good and a certain demographic of the electorate lap that sort of thing up. However the reality of hundreds maybe thousands of people getting dumped on the dole is somewhat different. I read one piece (no I don't have the link) saying even in the States some are now questioning the actions of DOGE. Swaths of people sacked and now a realisation some of them are actually needed.
And I question how much of it a Reform government could actually do here in the UK legally when it comes to the more dramatic and instant stuff, unless they were changing laws, removing us from ECHR etc.
I've said it in other threads, get ready for it. What's 'it'? Reform coming up with the excuses every other party does when they can't/won't deliver on what they've promised. It won't be any different if they do gain UK power, I can hear the excuses already
