All I am recounting is what I was told by two people I know that have personal experience of going through the 'torture' of travelling to the EU. Depends on the setup .

If it's 1 car with very few spares going to a single venue event it's usually a written inventory and oral declaration.

If it's a bigger setup then a carnet.

The issue is that it is never the same setup so every time is different. That's the real issue.

It's not easy to throw a tarp over a van full of tools and equipment with a trailer and a car attached.

The fact the trailer may or may not be mine, and the car isn't mine ALWAYS draws attention
