Reform lead the polls

42% of U.K. exports go to EU

Looks like we need to be nice to them
how about being nice to each other given the threat of war, that is literally on our door step. The problem with the EU is everyone is trying to get a better deal than everyone else. meanwhile bad actors get away with being bad.

We could just rejoin the bits that cause the problems. What would fix the problem Clarkson had. Would that be joining the single market or the customs union.

I was fine with the idea of BRINO. But nobody with a chance of power is talking about rejoining the EU. The next 12-18 months will be its defining moment.

FYI Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are in the Schengen area and not the EU.

I wonder if public opinion will change if we get shafted by Trump and also have to defend Ukraine as part of a European mission. A lot of people might decide they want the security of belonging to a large alliance.

You’re like a child. A very slow one.
Oh dear Mottie because he has to face the fact brexit has damaged this country

Brexit has damaged the music industry and the exhibition industry

There’s plenty of evidence to show that

But Mottie wants to ignore that because a couple of his brexity mates says it’s all tickety boo

Eight Out of Ten Brexit-hit Music Creators Say Their Earnings Have Plunged Since UK Left EU – UK Music Survey Reveals

07.09.2023: The devastating impact of the UK’s departure from the European Union is laid bare in a new survey of music creators by UK Music, the collective voice of the UK music industry.

The art industry is calling on ministers to reduce post-Brexit red tape that is leading to the cancellation of exhibitions and delays of over a month for pieces heading to Europe.
The UK left the European Union in January 2021, and since then the creative industries sector, which is worth around 6 per cent of the economy, has been one of the industries most acutely affected by the decision by Boris Johnson's government to replace membership of the single market and customs union with a more distant trading relationship with Europe

How Brexit has changed club racing

“I see no evidence to suggest a Carnet is not required,” says Historic Sports Car Club CEO Andy Dee-Crowne, pointing out there has been no change in the law in the past 12 months. “Our advice to all is to get a Carnet.” Ultimately, with or without a Carnet, there is always the threat of an overly picky official causing trouble on the border. But, what is agreed, is those racing professionally or transporting multiple cars as part of a team will need a Carnet

Many overseas riders have opted against riding in the UK now we are out of the European Union

But you voted for Boris Johnson and his hard Brexit

What EXACTLY did you vote for?

Just to add my two penneth.

I didn't vote in the referendum because I was torn. But I followed it all pretty closely. I was certainly under the impression that if we left it was simply a matter of choosing between the Switzerland and the Norway models. Hard Brexit never seemed to be discussed.

I only voted to leave because Notch told me to. He said he was voting for Brexit and everyone should do the same. Now he's calling us all stupid……

I suspect Trump will use the U.K. as a lever against the EU. If the EU get involved in defending Ukraine or creating an EU army then we are all doomed.

Starmer actually has quite a bit of power. If only he realised it. Unfortunately, he’s the wrong personality type to work well with Trump.

Intelligent people learn from their mistakes.

What is your reason for not?

Here are some options, which apply to you

There are a few reasons why people might be unable to learn from their mistakes and this are some of them.

  1. They blame other people for everything. We have to accept that us and us alone are the cause of what goes on in our lives this the first step to self improvement. We all have to take responsibility.
  2. They know they are the causes of the problems and know the habits to break in order to improve but they do not have the self discipline to break them.
  3. They listen to what other people say. Advice is good but more often than not the opinion of the masses will lead you to more errors. In other words be careful who you get advice from.
  4. They just do not care. Some people just do not care about self development and take life as it comes. Life can be easy that way tho or is it

there’s no going back
There is always the option of going back. Given time, there is no doubt that's what will happen. Trump's nonsense will hopefully make Europe a more cohesive community, with defence at the forefront.
