Reg 526.8, multiwire, fine wire and very fine wire

These are different contructions of a single conductor for the same cross sectional area.

Single as in standard twin and earth

Multiwire as in the old 7/029 fixed cable

Fine as in between 7 and 21 wires in a fexible conductor not continuously being flexed

Very fine as 21 to as many as 100 or more wires per conductor in a very flexible cable such as the cables to lift carriages and moving machinerysuch as cranes.

The actual numbers quoted may not be accurate if there is a formal defination but the principle is correct

although you can solder it seems with stranded cable where a normal clamp type connection is unlikely to make a good connection.
