I would like to reinforce a couple of 6 x 2 floor joists that have been fairly deeply notched (I assume for some now redundant pipe runs). I am considering fixing a steel plate to either side of the joist with bolts - can anyone point me in the direction of a steel plate supplier, as I haven't managed to track one down on the internet? Thanks.

why not go for sistering with another bit of 6x2" as your plate would have to overlap 30 inches or so any way
