could transform cancer surgery.

cancer and brain surgery could be transformed thanks to new tech that could allow surgeons to perform operations with remote controlled scalpels injected into the body .

Researchers say that the method would be safer & less invasive than current methods & could be used to treat patients with prostrate cancer in as little as 5 years

brain tumour operations would also benefit ???

I wouldnt want remote controlled scapels, if they are controlled by software under windows 10.......I can just imagine half way through: 'automatic updates installing'.

It would seem that this tech will be aimed at Prostate cancer ?? the tech is called Minima = minimum invasive image guided ablation

They have demonstrated that a 1mm wide metal ball can be injected into tissue and controlled and imaged in real time using an MRI scanner. The ball is then heated using radio waves from the scanner to kill cancer cells immediately

They are able to control the ball with 1mm precision , which is good enough for most operations ???

If successful & with a simple adjustment to a conventional MRI scanner , Minima will ensure that men with prostate cancer can be treated in local hospitals
making it viable treatment for the majority of prostate cancer patients "

Afaik Prostate cancer is now the biggest cancer killer for men ???

There was another report on the radio about a lady who had breast cancer . She was declared terminal and given months to live !!!! they said she had tumours ion her liver as large as a golf ball

They gave her some new treatment called imuno therapy ?? over a period of 2 years treatment she is now completely cancer free

Not entirely sure as to what the treatment is ? but they have also been using it/trialing it for prostate cancer as well
