i have recently made a piano shell from mdf. i bought the thickest lathed legs from the decking section (colonial end post) from the garden section at b&q, they suite very well.
i had them cut to the right height then drilled a 10mm hole into the top of the post, squeezed the most strong super dooper glue that holds metal to wood in the 10mm hole then hammered a 12mm Steel Threaded Rod into place. i let it dry overnight. when the legs are placed into postistion on the piano shell, i tightened the nut through the piano to hold the leg in place.
the problem is it pulls the rod out of the post (leg) and never truly grips to secure properly into place. the piano is wobbly in the result.
i also tried an anchor through bolt with a similar result, but in this case, the anchor bolt just spins around and doesn't come out.
i really need some ideas out there how to attach and detatch the legs to the piano as it needs to be portable with removable legs. and i'm out of ideas.....
thanks
