I just bought a very tall (205cm) strong wardrobe from VERY & planning to convert that to a fitted wardrobe as it fits exactly well in wardrobe space in my kid's room. I am planning add a strong shelf wood on top & close smaller gap between ceiling and top edge with same colour of paint as my wall. Also planning to fill small gaps between wardrobe and wall with wood and paint it.
Any flaws in my idea? Will I regret next week for spoiling my wardrobe and newly painted room (I burned my fingers already with another job which started as a small job!)? Any one tried this before?
On paper it looks like a simple task. And my second room got fitted wardrobe & I thought its better to make one in second room as well before putting house on sale.
Plan is as shown in attached image..
- fill 1cm gap on both sides with wood
- place a shelf wood on top and bottom (above carpet)
- Also hide 30 cm gap with ceiling on top with wood panel and paint same colour as wall. (thought about keeping this 30cm gap as an open shelf where you can keep guitar if you have one!, but may not give the feel of fitted wardrobe)
Is it desirable or common to have fitted wardrobe in the second room of 2Bed room house ?? Is it worth in property market as I will be putting my 2BHK on sale soon.
