Removal of emulsion paint - it works!

Just done a search for "Removal of emulsion paint" which came up with several offerings, but not quite my problem, which was dry emulsion paint on sofa. I deciced to try warming washing up liquid (neat) in the microwave and applying it direct to the paint. It lifted it off the fabric straight away.

Hope this may be of use to someone.
