Hello

I have a builder coming next week to do some jobs for me. One of which is to remove a chimney. I have tried to draw what I am planning to have done in this image.

It is a small chimney that runs up the external wall of the house and protrudes just above the roof. I would like the whole thing taken out.

My question is does this job require building regulations approval? My interpretation of the regulations suggest that I should, I just want to check.

Many thanks for your help in advance.

It's a structural change that essentially removes a buttress to a wall. You'd be well advised to ring your local BC and ask them for advice
