Remove archway

Hi,

I want to remove this archway and the bit sticking out on the left to make it flush

it doesn’t look like its a supporting column can someone advise based on pictures

Really hard to say but looks like the timbers from front door sit on the wall. Tho it also looks like it's been plasterboarded above the wall which would indicate the arch went in after.

If the timbers are supported by a Joist then it be worth doubling up that timber.

Sorry for the vague reply but it's to hard to say 100% what's supporting what without looking properly.
