Remove cable clips from worktop

Hi,
I need to remove an old worktop which has a cable clipped underneath it.

Does anybody have any tips for getting the clips off without damaging the cable?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

You should be able to grip the end of the clip with the nail in with a decent pair of pliers and pull while moving left and right.

Or pincers.

Or you may be able to tease the cable out from under the clip starting on the r/h/s, then once the cable is free, you can attack the clips without fear.

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can tease it but, if not, will try the pliers.

It's a bit brutal, but 9 times out of 10, just give the cable a tug and it'll separate.
