I’m renting a property that has a gas boiler behind an old style gas fire. Is it possible to remove the front cover of the fire place as it’s only held on by two screws and cover the remaining parts of the fire with a wooden radiator cover?

Thanks for your help

No its not i'm afraid, the fire is an integral part of the boiler and its flue and cannot be seperated you should leave it alone for your own safety.

More importantly, if the boiler is still in use you would be blocking ventilation which could affect combustion and flue operation. Leave well alone.
Has it got a gas safety certificate?
