I have just started digging the footings for my new extension. In fact this was an exploritory hole to try and find the run of the waste pipe coming from the stack.

I have found the pipe and the route it takes looks pretty good for what I have in mind. However, when the house was built, it seems that the workers chucked a load of concrete over the pipe, forming a large lump.

Do you know the best way of removing this without damaging the pipework?

Any suggestions would be welcome.
