Hi everyone,

I've got a problem with a Triton Martinique shower.... where the low pressure light is always on.

The shower's worked fine for 3 years, this problem has only just started a few days ago.
The general water pressure seems fine to me, same as it's always been.

The shower manual suggests that the inlet pipe is blocked, so I've been trying to remove the fittings so I can clean/unblock whatever gunge might be in there.

Here's a pic of the shower + fittings

I've already tried (switched the shower unit off at the fuse box, turned the water off, taken the front cover off), but that's as far as I could get.

I obviously need to remove the plastic fitting from the copper inlet pipe...

Does it require a special tool? Or is there a certain knack?

I've put the cover back on for now, but let me know if you need a photo of the inside....

Also bear in mind that I also need to use the same fittings again....

Thanks!

Thanks John.

So simple in the end.

I removed them all, but there was very little gunge inside any of them.
Refitted everything, but the problem remains.

I guess the thing is broken and needs replacing :-(

You need to take the metal gauze filter out of the shower inlet and see if that needs cleaned. It's located in the plastic inlet spigot inside the shower unit where the compression fitting connects the cold supply pipe to the shower inlet (solenoid). Check the MI and you'll see where you'll find the filter that needs checked.

Thanks Madrab. I'll take another look in a bit.
Not sure what/where you mean at the moment, but hopefully I'll work it out.

EDIT: Yup, found it in the manual :-)
Looks a bit tricky.....

One week later.....

I've hit a major hurdle again....

Please could someone tell me exactly where the inlet filter is and how I can gain access to it?

I've tried loosening the valve on the solenoid end but nothing is budging.... I guess it's soldered on the copper pipe end....?

ps. I know it's still there in the photo, but I've removed the trimplate too.
The thing just won't budge :(

Ok, so I've unscrewed the solenoid, and can now turn the valve/fitting anticlockwise - but it's still not loosening.... damn!

I've given up again. If anyone could please advise on what tool(s) I need to get the job done, I'll give it another try.
Otherwise, I guess I'll have to get a professional in, or a new shower....

Hi Paulg31

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I do. But can't. It just will not undo. Even after unscrewing the solenoid valve.
Though I've only got a pair of pliars, not a spanner that fits or any special tool, if one is required....

buy an adjustable spanner , pliers are not up to the job. and turn the nut ani clockwise I.e put spanner on the nut and push upward ,filter is just inside the white plastic inlet.

Thanks Terry! Adjustable spanner ordered.... I'll let you know how it goes....

Absolute nightmare!

I got two adjustable spanners....

If I try turning the nut with just one of the spanners, the whole copper section just turns, and nothing ever loosens.

If I hold the copper section in place by holding the compression elbow further down with the other adjustable spanner, then nothing happens.... other than I tug like a nutter and break into a hefty sweat.

Either the plumber who originally fitted the shower made it too tight, or I'm even more useless than everyone else on here already suspects.
