Remove wall under stairs

I want to remove the wall under the stairs to make the space created more useable, are there any isues in doing this?

The house is from the1930s I think.

Brick or wooden studding under stairs?

Stairs was made on site and mostly nailed together I guess.
Have a look.

Just remove wall under and use common sense and maybe add timber or supports if needed. You won't know until you get at it

You will probably have to leave what looks like a newel on the left hand side of the door.
