Hi everyone, hopefully this is in the right section.

We are purchasing a bungalow which needs work done on the chimney, however we are not planning to use the chimney.

Would be quite happy to remove the chimney stack to below the roof line. I am just wondering if we decide to leave the chimney breast in place inside, will we have any issues other than needing to block it to avoid our warm air escaping up the chimney into the loft?

thanks guys!

Is the chimney on an external wall? If so it will need vented, otherwise it can be sealed off in the attic.

Yes but where on the roof? Gable? At the ridge, on the party wall?

It’s on the rear side of the house

Straight down into attic and it can be sealed off. Straightforward job.
