i need to remove a shaver socket in my en-suite in order to hang a mirror. The transformer on the socket has two live, two neutral, and of course an earth running into it. What is the best way to to remove the soket within regulations.

Get into the loft above it, you should see 2 pieces of T&E running down in the appox location of the socket, switch off the circuit (check with multimeter on shaver socket terminals), join cables in loft (pull them up, cut them to sensible length) with junction box suitable for rating of circuit, look at mcb rateing, I would expect a 20A box to be the one to use, these things are usually on the lighting circuit*, and 5A boxes are too small to work with

*though I have heard about some that have an internal fuse to enable connecting from the ring.

you'll then have to ask in another forum on here how to fix the hole in the wall

Sorry I didnt reply for so long, been on holidays. Thanks for your help though, worked a treat. Cheers.
