Removing a thermostatic valve

Easy one, if you know the answer !!!

Do I need to isolate the water supply to remove a thermostatic valve from a shower head unit ?

Cheers. Glad I asked, I was about to get going with the tools and just stopped to think for a second !!! Theres WATER in here !!!!! :oops:
