Hi first time on here, hoping you might be able to help.
Our house has two toilets and l am wanting to remove the toilet and use the room as a study area. Can anybody offer advice on the best way to do this. problem would be the soil pipe, could this be capped to prevent smells or could boxing the whole lot in be an easier idea?

Thanks in advance :?

You might find it best to cap it off just in case the drains block you could have waste flooding in if it is just boxed in.

If you just box it in, there will be no way to maintain the water level in the trap (usually it's maintained by using the WC), so eventually it will smell.

How easy capping the soil pipe is depends on the material of the pipe, but there are straightforward ways to do it for most types.
