Hi

I have a small bay window and the ceiling has this slightly pimply textured paint. Decorating now and I want this ceiling to match the flat emulsion like the main ceiling.

In hindsight, I should have not started scrapping it off - but the deed is done!

Removing the paint with steam, it pulls away from the ceiling like a stretchy rubber. It is mostly coming off in small pieces. Very time consuming and my back is aching now!

Any better method to remove this paint?

H0llies, good evening.

From your description sounds like "Polycell Polyripple Paint"

No suggestions apart from keep on going with steam stripper and scrapers.

Is it possible to simply skim over? would work if there is a down stand beam across the bay?? Or overboard with some plasterboard??

Ken.

Thank you. Not sure if you can, but I don't want to involve the cost of a plasterer. The area measures about 40 inches by 10ft. I'm half way through but it has taken me a full day so far :(
