Please have a look at the photos.

Any ideas how to get rid of this (preferably without using a wrecking bar - I'd already thought of that!). I tried turning the fixing on the left, assuming it was a kind of screw. Its pretty rusty so it took a bit of effort (and a pair of pliers) but I got it round about 2 or 3 complete turns and its no looser! Either its stripped or its not got a conventional screw thread. Has anyone got any experience of removing (or fitting) these? The fitting on the right doesn't seem to have any kind of adjustment at all! Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the advice guys. The tool box doesn't stretch to an angle grinder right now (and nor will the wallet!) but I'm loving the idea of drilling it out. I never would have thought of that, and I have a bit of brick work to do elsewhere so repointing it wont be an issue. Thanks again.

He's only gotta use it once! Then it will probably get used occasionally.

That said he needs some goggles too.

Or hiring one might be less.
